Grahmann’s True Value Inc. has proudly served its community for 79 years.

Founded by Alvin Grahmann in 1946, this family-owned and operated business began in Hallettsville, Texas.

Expansion and Growth

Recognizing an opportunity for growth, Alvin and his wife, Adela, acquired the former Schaefer Hardware Store in Schulenburg. After extensive renovations, the second Grahmann’s True Value store opened its doors in 1979. Shortly thereafter, they purchased the adjacent Schaeffer lot to construct a warehouse.

In 1997, the business continued to flourish in Schulenburg with the purchase and remodeling of the Kasper’s Dry Goods store building, now boasting approximately 18,000 square feet of sales and warehouse space. What started as a small hardware store has evolved to offer an extensive range of products, including:

• Hardware
• Plumbing supplies
• Electrical items
• Yard and garden supplies
• Paint
• Housewares
• Gifts for all occasions
• Traeger grills
• Christmas trees and decorations
• Clothing for ladies, children, and men
• A complete bridal registry

Grahmann’s success can be attributed to their commitment to good service and quality name-brand products.

A Family Tradition

In June 2008, Michael and Janice Grahmann purchased the Schulenburg store from the family corporation. The Grahmann family is deeply grateful for the loyal friends and customers they serve, as well as their dedicated employees, some of whom have been with the business for many years. They believe in giving back to the community by supporting local churches, schools, organizations, and stock shows.

In their downtime, the Grahmanns enjoy developing their business, Midnite Miniatures Cattle, which was founded in 2019. They also cherish the time spent with their family and grandchildren.
